SLA and reports
Measure service continuity and make uptime and downtime verifiable.
How long each service has spent in each state
For each monitored check, Core calculates the percentage distribution of states over the selected period. Service categories typically include OK, WARNING, CRITICAL and UNKNOWN.
The corresponding periods are shown with graphical summaries, details of state changes and timelines.
- OK
- WARNING
- CRITICAL
- UNKNOWN
Every percentage is backed by a verifiable sequence
The SLA view links percentages to a sequence of transitions: every state change is recorded with date, time and duration.
- Start from the aggregate availability result for the period.
- Drill down to the intervals in which the outage occurred.
- Compare the event with information from the other Core tools, such as Time Machine.
The Service Level Agreement of a service
For an individual service, SLA Reporting brings together on one page the pie chart with the percentage of each state, the table of state changes and the timeline for the period.
Accurate measurements during maintenance too
Planned maintenance windows can be handled so that they do not improperly distort availability assessments.
A consistent approach. It is essential to define uniform rules for exclusions and for handling unknown states, especially if the reports are used in contractual checks or operational reporting.
Reporting
Time-based graphs, state change tables and data export make it possible to:
- describe how service performance evolves;
- build reports for managers;
- verify the effects of the work carried out.
An anomaly that occurred overnight
A sequence of events involves several hosts and services while the operations centre is unattended. Time Machine reconstructs the state of the components at the time of the fault, Situation Analysis highlights the objects that are frequently critical and the SLA history quantifies the outage.
